「Had an impromptu night away over Bank Holiday. We picked the 1st sunny weekend and Matlock was packed with tourists. The hotel is nice, reception were very pleasant and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. TV didn't work, but we weren't in the room to watch TV. My only small complaint is the bar is open all day, but it can be a bit tricky to find someone to serve. It's also only open until 22:00 and the restaurant stops serving food at 20:00. It would have been nice to have a few nights here...

「Lovely hotel with very welcoming and accommodating staff. Building and grounds are perfect for the football fans. We went for my son’s birthday and he had a great time in the pool and looking at the football training pitches. The staff were amazing for including a surprise cake plate and helium balloon in the room and discuss the past times of the players when they stay 」

「We chose the hotel fairly randomly as we had a voucher to use. It is family owned and it is clear that the family and the staff put in a huge amount of effort to make everyone's stay as good as it can possibly be. It is really refreshing to see a hospitality business being run so well and making you feel so welcome after all the problems the industry has faced!」

「As expected a 1770 built hotel with lots of the original features. Recently changed hands. New owners still finding their way and stamping their own mark on service. 」

「We arrived late on that day, the receptionist Alex gave us a warmly welcome, and all the things were prepared in the room. The room was comfortable, tidy and clean, we had a good sleep on that night.」

「Stayed here overnight after visiting family in Derby , check in and out easy, friendly reception staff. Very clean accomodation , tea, coffee etc, bath with overhead shower, good thick towels the room was quiet cheap overnight at £43 pub/restaurant on site for breakfast and meals, mcdonalds 2 mins walk away. Good very clean comfortable good stay. 」
