"Loved it, felt like a real local. Washer was a plus and included detergent! Fast responses and overall a great stay :) 9.8/10 a little bit dusty specifically the top of air conditioner but hey, it’s an older place, it was expected and part of the vibe. Recommend if you want to stay in a more traditional place hence the name of the place. "

My first review for Micasa was gone when I click the send button, but I want to finish writing the review to let more people know Micasa and how good this place is. The facilities are very new. "Although this property was an old nice machiya they updated it with a nice bathroom. But the beds were really comfy. I didn’t care for the location because it was far from bus and train station. It’s a long hot walk with all our luggage. Overall I probably wouldn’t stay again because of location but the inn was really great. "

"The small house was perfect for us (4 adults and one child) to go around Kyoto. There is a big supermarket and several restaurants in walking distance and a playground 20m away (you don’t hear the playground). Beside the local tax link not working, everything went very smooth!"

Superb!!!

"Beautiful facility located in the heart of Kyoto. The bed was extremely firm and very comfortable. The room was super quiet with no external noise at all. And the breakfast buffet was the best that I have ever experienced. It puts the American hotel breakfasts to shame!!! And there is a bakery two doors down that offered wonderful gods.The staff was friendly and very accommodating. All in all, Superb!"

"Amazing hotel with a vibrant young staff. The rooftop bar serves excellent cocktails, and the restaurant is also top-notch – definitely a highlight of the stay. However the atmosphere created by American tourists were noticeable. A certain amount were very loud and lacked consideration for others, which affected the overall very elegant ambiance. As an European traveler seeking a quieter or more cultured environment this might be a downside."

"Really nice hotel with fairly spacious room for Japan. The entrance and lobby area is lovely. Short walk to goju station only 1 stop from Kyoto, and easy walk to Gion with loads of bar and restaurant options. Great lounge in the basement with complimentary drinks and snacks and beautiful onsen and gym also. Only downside was the breakfast was quite expensive with not a huge selection compared to others on my trip. I would like to see more fresh fruit available. Otherwise my stay here was really perfect."
