"I stayed here with my family for 2 nights and really enjoyed all the amenities and the breakfast! Staff were all really nice, especially Esther at the front desk who helped answer my questions about Sun moon lake activities and helped us plan out our schedule! Surrounded by misty mountains, Tung Po's tea plantations offer visitors peaceful walks and tastings of locally grown oolong varieties. Nearby Sun Moon Lake provides scenic boat tours while the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village showcases traditional performances and indigenous crafts.
huge, old-school, noisy, package-tour oriented hotel. felt like a throw back to a bye-gone age. Average food served in shifts. (However, nice Balinese restaurant trainees made us feel welcome).

My room overlooking the village's central area provided interesting views into local life. Breakfast was available at the hotel's modest restaurant across the street. Helpful staff showed me the ingredients so I could build my own breakfast since I could not complete their Chinese language menu. The bathroom had its own onsen tub, so I did not use the spa.

Beautiful property, free tea tasting, and very wonderful host. Host was a pleasure to talk to and was always available for any assistance we needed. Had great recommendations for food and hikes nearby. He also took the time to show us his family’s tea farm only 2 minutes away. The views were incredible. Alishan Recreational Forest was only 30-40 minutes away.

We got to Chiayi much later than expected and had to take a cab up to the bus station and a B&B staff picked us up from the bus station. Even with a car, this B&B is bit hard to get to because it's higher up in the mountain. However, the scenery was fanstastic since the buildings are right next to tea plantations. There are short trails around the B&B where you can climb for a pretty good view. The room we got was wood and beauitfully decorated. The photos do not do it justice.

It’s a very well maintained, very clean & comfortable hotel. Great service, excellent brey& dinner. The roof top is a good place to watch sunset. The only negative is not convenient if you don’t have a far. It’s quite far from all the attractions In Alishan.

Dany and Dora are outstanding hosts! My wife and I stayed only one night with the goal to see the sunrise at Alishan National Park. We took the high speed rail from Taipei to Chiayi and the bus from Chiayi to Alishan. Dany provided excellent details in clear English on how to navigate the bus system.
The explanation, suggestions and ideas about how to get tickets for the sunrise train, and where to watch the sunrise lead to an unforgettable experience for my wife and I where we watched the...
