"Lovely hotel, big comfortable room with two proper chairs (yay!) and surprisingly quiet. Easy to get to the Hauptbahnhof or Central in about 5 mins on the frequent tram service. We didn't know that the breakfast was veggie (although they did offer you the chance to ask for cold sliced meats if you wanted). Didn't bother us, but it would be good to know in advance. Our only complaint (and it's BIGGIE!) is the self check-in system and their poor communication about it. We received an email about it 2 days in advance, but we were already travelling and it was difficult to do anything online. I didn't have the apparently necessary Reservation number so couldn't do the online check-in in advance. I tried ringing the hotel and was told it "would be in an email". It wasn't. In the end we cut short our visit to Basel in order to get to Zurich and check in before 5pm when we thought we would be locked out because the Reception staff go off-duty. This turned out to be entirely unnecessary, as they could have given us a code to open the front door. All the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, but I think they don't realise that what seems to them a small, simple thing, can create panic for travellers when it's not explained clearly. During our week there, we encountered lots of other people with similar problems with check-in. Shame, because everything else was great!"

"The hotel staff were so kind, friendly and helpful. The room was fine, nothing fancy, basic, but adequate. The only issue was the noise from the traffic outside. They provide earplugs to drown out the noise, so that was nice."

"It's a lovely boutique hotel in the middle of a pedestrian only area, lots of restaurants, close to the tram and to the coop. The included breakfast was perfect, lots of hot and cold choices. The staff were very helpful. Only drawback was the lack of AC. It was unseasonably warm one evening and while the open windows provided a nice breeze, it was too noisy to leave the windows open while sleeping. Would highly recommend."

"Great hotel with very friendly staff! The Swiss standard for hotels is very high so the rooms are cleaned everyday, and complimentary water is provided (although the tap water is good to drink). Breakfast is cold (no bacon etc). The hotel has 4 private car bats which can be a little confusing to get to and costs 20 CHF a day, laundry is 15 CHF per load and is ready in about 6 hours. Overall the hotel was great, very convenient, about a 5 minute walk from the train station and near so decent restaurants/kebab shops."

"This hotel comes with pros and cons. Pros - close to the train station and the Landesmuseum,; very clean; friendly staff; comfortable bed; has aircon and a fridge. Cons - very dated decor circa late 1980s/early 1990s; breakfast is in the bakery next door - we didn’t realise this on booking - not a buffet but the food provided was good; our room looked onto a public stairway so was a little noisy and not very private but bearable as we were not staying over a weekend; the curtains were blackout but too short which defeated the purpose; the hairdryer is beyond useless- think hose with narrow blower on the end! Very old fashioned- ours kept coming apart at each use making it difficult to use - this really needs to be replaced for a more reliable modern style. We did report this each day and were told the owner is aware they need to be replaced. Otherwise it is a good value hotel for the centre of Zurich."
