"We were first offered a room with bedroom upstairs. When I said I could not cope with that for health reasons, we were cheerfully offered a ground floor room instead. This one of the best motels we've ever stayed at. To find it in small town NZ was a delightful surprise. We'll be back. It deserved an excellent rating."

"Good location, especially for the Teranaki Falls walk, but also for Tongoriro Crossing (20 minutes drive to the trail head). The staff was friendly. The room was clean and as-described. The property is a little old/dated. Also, the hot tub is only available 3pm to 8pm and you need to reserve a 30-minute slot (on the plus side you get the hot tub to yourself for the 30 minute slot, and the clean it fully every day). "

"Everything was ok and Plateau Lodge is one of the best we have stayed for our hiking trips. The only little problem is just photo displayed when I booked. It shows a nice outdoor bath tub, so I expected the room I booked looks like this. However, that is indeed for another room type."
