Octavio is an amazing host, he welcomed us with a drink and shared tips on local attractions and meals. The room was surprisingly spacious, felt clean and safe. He went above and beyond by helping transport our luggage to our next hotel in Takayama, which let us enjoy the town without worry.

The best place I stayed so far!

Since I got lost on my way to Takayama, I arrived very late. Nevertheless, the owner, Octavio-san, was nice enough to wait for me and give me a quick tour of the house, and he also took the time to recommend me some places to see in the town! The house is so beautiful, very clean, and the futon amazing, I slept like a freakin' baby! You have to walk a bit to see the main spots, but everything is at least 10 minutes walk , so very close. Overall I really enjoyed my stay, Octavio-san is a wonderful host, and I wished I stayed more in Takayama!

We ended up with a private toilet and sink as well as a huge separate living room. The bedroom in itself was large as well, the bed comfortable.

The room was neat and the hotel was within walking distance to other attractions, As we have 3 pieces of luggage, the owner showed us his hospitality by giving us a ride to the station.

Overall good experience

Overall it was quite a good experience staying in japanese 'ninja house'.. my kids love the double decker bed.. the only short coming is toilet that is downstair, the house is not heated so can be cold during the winter..

Muy buen lugar para alojarse en la zona más pintoresca de Takayama. El dueño y su hermana son encantadores, hacen todo lo posible para que la estancia sea lo mejor posible. Creo que la relación calidad - precio es buena, aunque hay que tener en cuenta que no es un hotel, es una casa de 2 plantas con habitaciones. La única pega es que solo tiene un baño compartido para todas las habitaciones, si está lleno de huéspedes podría ser incómodo en algún momento. Aún asi, por el precio, es un sitio muy recomendable. Y tiene parking gratuito!

Very nice guesthouse

The guesthouse is very clean and in a very convenient location, the owner is adorable, to my opinion it is the best deal in town! Thanks again for making our stay so great. We will come back
