"The hotel room was spacious. The room was separate from the kitchenette. We had un-room washer dryer. It's also convenient that the bathroom are separated.
Staff at registration were helpful and friendly, esp Nao.
We like the front patio in front of the lobby entrance where you sit, relax and watch people walk by.
Next door to train station and bus to Shirakawago and other places. Will stay again and recommend to friends."
"We enjoyed our stay; staff were friendly and helpful, good room design. You get to pick up your pajamas at reception to wear to the spa and for a lot of people to the bar as well. Nice bar but no barman - pay at reception and get a token for drinks or use the vending machine, free marshmellows which you can toast over the outside fire. Separate male and female spas and 4 private spas - pick a quiet time at 3pm and you have the place to yourself. Good location, we walked everywhere. Great little coffee shop about 1 minute walk away that does great cheese toast."
"The onsen (public bath) on the top floor is wonderful. The room was clean and spacious. The downstairs lobby was small and the breakfast/dining area rather sterile with harsh lighting. Does not have a real lounge/bar area. However, plenty of great dining and bar options nearby."
"The Country Hotel Takayama is an excellent value budget hotel. The hotel is right next to the train station, providing easy access when pulling a suitcase. The single room was small, clean, and functional. Hotel policy is to drop off the key at the desk when leaving, which I find a little inconvenient. The price for a night's stay is really low, so I can put up with the inconvenience."
