This place is incredible!! My sibling and I showed up exhausted and cold and were given prime princess treatment as soon as we walked in. The staff took our luggage and shoes and gave us tea and yukatas. Everybody was dressed in traditional Japanese attire and the lobby is gorgeous and full of activities and places to relax. There were games and crafts and free sale!! Our room was also amazing with tatami floors and futons. It came with everything we needed plus extra goodies from the staff. The AC was a little bit finicky but that was probably our fault. I think the only aspect of our stay that I think could use improvement is the bath house. This was my first time using one, so I don’t know if this is normal, but the water was not as clean as I’d hoped. Maybe because guests weren’t washing off properly before using it, or letting their hair down? There were signs stating the rules right outside, so I’m not sure what happened. I do wish there was another sign or explanation from the staff about where to put your belongings, because I was a bit confused until another guest kindly helped me out. Other than that, the bath was so beautiful and calming. A really great first experience! The surrounding area was nice too! Easy transportation and tons of great restaurants. Definitely pay a visit to Rinrin cafe nearby! The owners are the sweetest people ever and make amazing food!! Overall, I highly recommend Oyado Koto no Yume. Top notch service, especially from Ms. Yuki!!

- The room was pristine and spacious. - The futon beds were insanely comfortable! - The private onsen was beautiful. - The staff were immensely helpful and had wonderful English - The location a few minutes walk from the train/bus station makes getting there with suitcases really convenient. - The breakfast is quite good and convenient. Definitely would go for the Japanese breakfast option Overall everything seems like it had been thought of which made the stay feel comfortable as both a home base for traveling around Takayama and the Hida region or as a place to rest and recoup on a rainy day

We were here for 4 nights. We're in out 60s and this is our first time to stay in an Ryokan. Honestly, it would have been better if it's only 2 nigths so we an experience it. We don't love the room arrangement, the futon, and there's no full size 'chair' level sitting arragnement. We're too old to be getting up and down from the floor level. It would have been fun again for a short duration but not for 4 nights.

The hotel is very well situated near to the train station and it’s very pretty! The room is a very good size and it was clean! The onsen was also pretty so we had no trouble spending 15 minutes alone in our separate baths (1 for men and another for women). The staff were also extremely friendly and the free sake, plum wine and tea in the evening was a pleasant surprise
