In the case of this place,the reviews I read and the 9.0 score were in an alternative universe compared to the place I stayed at. Yes, the name and address were the same but the descriptions were not of the hotel I experienced. It was a small, old, dark, clean, decent roadside motel from the 40s-50s, but. 9.0???? More like a decent 7.0. It’s a simple mom-n-pop operation with zero amenities beyond the most minimal basic essentials like teeny soap bars and threadbare towels that I admit do get the job done. If you are just looking for a basic place to crash on your way up/down the Oregon Coast, you won’t be disappointed. When I see a 9.0 rated place, I expect a great value. In this case I was disappointed in the place and in my community of reviewers who let me down with their hyperbolic ratings."

"On our first day as we were entering the room the fire alarm went off. It went off again roughly at 10 pm at night when I was already sleeping. I am a fully disabled veteran with ptsd and having to wake up to this again was extremely upsetting. I called Expedia and was told I should hear something from the manager the next day as they were off on our first day there. Unfortunately for me I was never called or checked up on. Guess it wasn’t that important for the manager to check up on a guest"
