This place is so much nicer than the hostels I remember from my youth. The room was nice and clean, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. There are tons of options for dining on the same block, and the metro station is on your doorstep. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff and reception. Nice welcome. The property has recently been taken over by owners and has work in hand. I had a single room with its own bathroom and it was fine, but basic. After a bit of sprucing and things like a shelf or two, it will be fine. The location is good and walkable to the Opera House and Quayside, which was enjoyable and important.
Good location, but hard to find the front entrance

It’s next to Kings cross station and easy to connect to SYD airport, Circular Quay area.
All of the staffs are kindly, they give your bed seets, towel something when you check in.
Unfortunately those bathrooms are always dirty :(

Stairs weren’t much fun and the AC could use a crank but good for the money
The hostel was still being built. They only had 1 fridge for the entire hostel and no space to store food. They were literally painting the stairs when I walked in. When I asked about more fridges or facilities, I was told to stop ‘going off’ by the manager.
Abysmal service and an unfinished hostel. The atmosphere was not cosy either. I left after my first night being assured by the manager I would get my refund. But after several attempts by hotels.com to contact the property they gave up trying to get my refund. The property claimed they had informed hotels of the refund. Who knows. I just want to forget the entire experience.

Lower your expectations to suit the price.
I suppose because it was so cheap i shouldnt complain BUT i think when i put my feet up on the bed and leave someone elses' hair there i should mention that a good clean of the carpet was needed. And in both toilet/showerooms that i had access to the handwash dispensers were empty.
Now about the room; if the curtains which didnt blockout the light, were open every person who was entering Kings Cross station would be able to see me as the window faced its main entrance. The tiny little window on the back of the room looked out onto a gravel area ( with discarded undies and bits of rubbish strewn about) which added to the vibe of the room.
The bed was uncomfortable as it was a slat bed with a hump in the middle.
The 2 pillows were about as thick as a folded skinny towel( of which there were two but no washers.
To get to the bathroom you had to be fully dressed bcause as soon as you stepped out the door you were in full view of everyone entering Kings Cross station.
The room consisted of a bed,a tiny little coffee table, a lamp on the coffee table which gave off about one birthday candles worth of light and a giant wall clock (on the wrong time). It was noisy as well. There were 2 fluro tubes for lighting in the roof that lit up the room like an atomic explosion so the room was well lit when they were on. There was a mirror as well.
The room was cheap so i got what i paid for i think.
