My friend and I stayed for a spring ski weekend at Stowe. It's an easy drive to the mountain and a short drive to all the restaurant options in town. We rented demo skis at Pinnacle, which is literally across the street. We were exhausted from skiing each day so didn't end up using the amenities ...
