「This is an okay place to stay while visiting St Leonard’s and Hastings. It seems to be a family-run place and full breakfast is provided and is good.Quick walk to the train and to the beach and laundromat. Some improvements have been made to the property which are cosmetic and actually quite silly. There was an attempt to make this old hotel look opulent while neglecting things like upgraded beds and bedding, soundproofing rooms, replacing broken window seals and fresh paint on the exterior....

「Needs a major upgrade. Poor heating due hardly being on and with insufficient window insulation. In fact sash windows can’t close so top of one window was stuffed with tissue. Had to improvise with a towel as the gap in middle needed blocking! General plumbing needs replacing as the smell wasn’t good and outside in the general area had air fresheners all over. Stairs and general decor is in poor condition. Big mistake not reading previous reviews 😡」

「Battle is a very small town; having the helpful hotel staff in the neighborhood is certainly a plus. This building has existed as of the 16th century, and it's been properly maintained and apparently renovated in the toilet/bathroom.」

「I was disappointed with this stay. For the amount of money it cost, the caravan was not clean, was overcrowded and needs a lot of smarting up. You had to pay extra to have bedding which I think is unreasonable, particularly how much it cost per night anyway. Communication with the host was fine but not great. Unfortunately I won’t be recommending or returning to this property. 」

「Disappointing experience . When I informed reception at 6.15 pm that we had no water for the bath or shower I was told there wasn't any maintenance available . So neither I or my wife could have a shower that evening or the next morning ( today ) . On check out I reminded the manager of this problem , but no redress or discount was offered ; until I asked for a discount .
