"Parking excellent. Clean room ok. Apart from bed runner was dirty. And cushions. Spell off B/O. Not been washed. Cleaning staff was helpful. And friendly. (New lady) Dining roomStaff older lady was super friendly at breakfast but other lady not so much. See know other staff the whole time we was there. Breakfast was ok sausage was not good. Eve meal I had bar/bq steak. Which it was not it was very dry as not sauce on it. Could not have sauce that was on side as it was spicy can’t eat spicy food. I did tell the waitress and was told it was not. But it was. The onion rings I could off eaten them all day there were wonderful. Our room. Did NOT have aircon which we booked and paid for a room with that. We paid more but when we got talking to there’s our room was the same as there one but not a deluxe room. Our bed the mattress. Was really bad dipping all over the place. The pillows. Were terrible. The tea tray made us lol. 3 tea bags 2 coffee some sugar and 4 milk pots. ONE biscuit. Both with them and the restaurant. Seamed extremely tight. With everything. Tea cups eg dirty. Toast come out right away so by time you got food toast was cold and hard. Fruit and pastries. Just left on table with flys over it. Milk left out on table in a warm restaurant. And towel rail you can’t turn off AT ALL!! Which is ridiculousi. 25/28 heat. That I can’t understand. Need soft closing doors as doors banging shut."

"Plenty of parking. Welcome check in Nice comfy bed with air con in room. Tea coffee and snack in the room. Shampo, conditioner, wash, and lotion in bathroom. Free wifi. Breakfast was great and staff were very friendly. I will stay here again. Stayed here to visit Beamish"

"Location was perfect. 4 min walk from train station and close to all shops, bars and restaurants. Bar in hotel was first class with extremely helpful staff who were always very friendly. Stayed during heatwave so the lack of air con, or a window that would open, were disappointing. Standing fan in room helped but sometimes just blew hot air around. Room in loft so was very hot. Decor/furniture very basic and dated but bed very comfortable. Bathroom needs some tlc - position of shower in bath quite dangerous. Overall, I enjoyed it but was it value for money? No, probably not."

"Our room was spotless as were the general areas. Comfy bed. Perfect location for Beamish Museum and some of the local golf courses. A more powerful shower would have been the only improvement for us. Really friendly staff. We would definitely stay here again."

"We had a lovely stay at Hamsteels Hall in the Bull Pen. I don’t feel the photos do it justice as it looked better in real life. We had everything we needed for a short stay and it was in a peaceful location which was just what we were after."

"A great hotel/pub!!! Clean, spacious, live music on Friday & Saturday, great selection of beers, very friendly staff. Central location, easy walk into town. Hoping to stay again soon.......if my romance works out lol :) I think I will stay again anyway :) Highly recommended!!!!!! :)"
