「A reminder that you don’t get a lot for your money these days. Twin room - cheap narrow beds, very noisy plumbing system in the room and from other rooms, noisy outside, tiny shower. Included breakfast not worth mentioning.」

「Friendly staff. Good location. Room was clean and had lots of tea and milk provided. Shower room a little smelly due to damp? but water lovely and hot. Breakfast was very nice. Pizza on 1st night tasty and good value but was not told that no meals provided on a Tuesday night but found somewhere else to eat easily We would stay hear again .」

「Friendly small hotel. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was really good too.」

「Pleasant stay in a lovely location. Owner had Very enthusiastic dogs which is great if you’re a dog lover but not really our thing.」

「Lovely old building, beautifully clean and comfortable. Steve and Fiona were very welcoming and kind. Also, they cooked a mean breakfast from a varied menu. It was delicious. The only downside was the lack of parking outside The Bakehouse. It proved to be very difficult but the upside was that approx 60 yards away was a Car Park for only £3.30 for 24 hours! Highly recommend The Bakehouse if you are planning a visit to East Devon.」

「The hotel was really a hostel and did not match up with images on their website. We were expecting to be staying in a country house hotel not a youth hostel. The only facility we had was wifi. The room was clean but very basic with no ability to make ourselves a tea or coffee without walking down two flights of very steep steps to the kitchen which was a health and safety nightmare - no idea why they could not have put a tea/ coffee station on the top floor. There was no television...

「On arrival the reception was awful with staff unable to access records but their attitude was very off hand towards us. The room was clean but badly set up. For instance, the double bed was only accessible from one side; there was nowhere for storage of cases etc. and the only area to hang clothes was a row of five hooks, three of which overhung the box on which the kettle and cups etc. were kept; the shower cubicle was missing one of its two doors; the sink in the toilet was so restricted by a...

「Lovley clean room and bathroom. 2nd floor room with quite steep stairs, no lift so beware if you are not very agile! Room 6 is basically in the roof, OK in winter but would be very warm in summer and noisy with gulls around as overlooking the other rooftops. Toilet had a macerator which was noisy and didn't quite flush properly once or twice - wouldn't like that again! Loose dog in the hallway when I came back from walk- barking and growling so rang bell for owner to come out. It was owner's...

「Lovely host and breakfast. Room was perfect for a 2 night stay.」

「I had a lovely stay and nothing was too much bother for Sue. Lots of choice for breakfast. I would happily stay here again. Even had a scarecrow trail whilst I was there with an amazing entry at the guesthouse.」

「So clean, our room was immaculate so were all the other areas of the hotel. Really lovely stay, fabulous breakfast and dinner!」

「The woman who greeted us, was so lovely!!! Made us feel welcomed and at home and would recommend to anyone visiting.」

「Cosy traditional b&b room above the pub itself, surprisingly quiet (never heard a sound) even though the pub below is a very popular place and full every night. Nice breakfast, good evening meal, can’t fault the place. Patrick and the locals were very friendly, we happily chatted amongst them all evening on both nights we stayed. All in all a very good time, would we stay again? Absolutely no problem at all.」

「A very lovely, clean and welcoming B&B. Debbie and Rich were excellent hosts, and provided tips on the various activities to try and things to do.An ideal location and easily accessible to the seafront and amenities.」

「What a beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior double which was very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and excellent tea and coffee, biscuits and water. The owners were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. You would never go hungry. The air conditioning was a real bonus, although unfortunately it did drip a little water on the floor. My only other niggles...

「The Villa Marina is run by two of the most wonderful people you could ever meet. Vince and Erwan were amazing hosts who would do anything to ensure you had a wonderful stay. The hotel is super clean, the breakfasts ensured lunch may not be required! A location not far from the sea or town centre and an overall lovely atmosphere. Their knowledge of the local area was well received by everyone which helped guests make the most of their time in Torquay. I can’t thank them enough for making my stay...
