The owners of the hotel couldnt have done enough. They were lovely and made me feel really welcome. Nothing was too much for them. Such a lovely couple. The food was amazing I will definitely be going back with my husband and the dog when we hire the adjoinjng cottage.
Excellent b&b in quiet village, lovely comfortable bed, great shower and fabulous cooked breakfast. Steve and Anita were very friendly, will definitely stay there again.
A Delightful Stay at The Old Bake House in Colyton!
Our recent stay at Steve and Fiona's charming B&B, The Old Bake House in Colyton, was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. It truly felt like a home away from home, with every detail thoughtfully considered.
The comfort of our room was exceptional, particularly the linen which was noticeably crisp and fresh – a true luxury! Each morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast that was not only incredibly tasty but also beautifully presented, with fine attention to detail which added a lovely touch to the meal.
A highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the 'lounge' in the b&b. It added such a unique and fun element to our stay, allowing us to relax and enjoy Steve's incredible record collection. It was a fantastic way to unwind after a day of exploring.
Convenience was also a plus, with easy parking available. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed evening at the pub just across the road, which was the perfect spot to unwind after our daytime adventures. And for a truly local treat, the cream tea down the road from the B&B was an absolute delight!
Steve and Fiona have created a truly special place at The Old Bake House, and we can't recommend it highly enough. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Enjoyable stay at The Old Bakehouse
Stayed for 2 nights at this lovely B&B. Steve, the host, gave us a warm, friendly greeting when we arrived. He told us we could make use of the guest sitting room & were welcome to use the record player if we wanted to as he had a selection of vinyl records. We didn't get a chance to do this but it was great having the records playing at breakfast.
Our room was nice & bright. Lovely tea tray with tea bags, coffee bags, etc, fresh water & biscuits. Toiletries are provided along with nice fluffy towels.
We ate in the pub opposite the B&B, The Kingfisher, the first night & had a good meal. It was very busy but the service was good.
At breakfast we opted for a full English which was very tasty with locally sourced ingredients. There was also a selection of cereals, fruit juices, fruit & preserves, tea & coffee.
There is no private allocated parking but there are plenty of places to park free very close by, we never had any trouble finding a spot.
Steve was a great host, very friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our stay & would not hesitate to stay again if we were in the area.
The breakfast was top rate- fantastic selection on offer. The hosts were fantastic and very welcoming. Very comfy bed and very spacious. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
10/10 throughout: welcoming friendly host, very clean, wonderful breakfasts and very nice room. Everything we needed to a great standard and reasonable price.
Wonderful hosts in a super charming location, close to the coast. Lots of history in this town, and very picturesque. Breakfast was tasty and served hot and to our requests. Highly recommend!
