"We had a fantastic stay overall and really enjoyed our time at the hotel. The bartender was great—friendly, attentive, and made the evenings especially enjoyable. The daytime staff was also very kind and welcoming once we arrived, which set a positive tone for the trip.
However, the experience took an unexpected turn when I asked to extend our stay by one additional night. I was told we would need to move to a different room, which honestly surprised me. In all the years of traveling, I’ve never encountered a situation where extending a stay meant being relocated—that was just weird. After, I wanted to take a quick jump in the pool before I headed out and asked for a late check out instead Iand that was even denied. By then, was over it.
While the stay started strong, that inconvenience put a bit of a damper at the end. Overall, a good experience with great staff, but the room change thing for one extra night on a Thursday was just strange. Although we enjoyed the beautiful scenery, great staff, and good food…. I am not sure I would return after the front desk damper. "
"Loved seeing Mt Rainier outside our window…and the housekeeping crew went out-of-their way to spruce up our room!! We ate dinner at the Mexican restaurant connected to the hotel-it was awesome!"
"The property and rooms were all very clean and tidy. The staff was very kind and amenable. It was also very calm and quiet on the property. The only drawback was the heftiness of the pillows. The included breakfast was most welcome and delicious! We would certainly stay here again."
"Stayed in the cabin, quiet, staff are friendly specially Chris who is very hospitable. Offered us to feed the fish which was so exciting. The hotel is very near to the national park."
"My long distance bestie and I wanted a place right next to Mt. Rainier National Park so we could get there first thing in the morning. We went during April (shoulder season) and were fortunate to have incredible weather. The lodge room we stayed in was absolutely adorable, and the restaurant on site had incredible Ukrainian food for dinner. We didn't have the chance to utilize the other features available for booking (like the cannibal hot tub) but they were tempting enough that I would love to go check it out in the future! We also really enjoyed the breakfast at the cafe before heading into the park!"
"Mine was an off-season visit to this Lodge near the entrance to MT. Rainier National Park and White Pass ski area. It is a few miles outside of town, but well-maintained. The desk person was very friendly and helpful, and the property was pretty, and one could hear the Cowlitz River nearby."
"Lovely, clean, and old- fashioned, with a really good restaurant. Rooms are small without TVs or wifi, but with Mount Rainier right outside, it's not that much of a hardship. Staff were particularly helpful and friendly."
"The property is lovely but a bit run down for the price you pay. The biggest disappointment was the pool was not heated as advertised— this was a major reason we booked here versus another. Apparently, it was just temporarily broken, but this should have been communicated to us before checking in. The couch was lumpy and worn, the kitchen was minimally stocked. No real dealbreakers but not what we expected for what we paid.
Otherwise, check-in was easy and the hot tub and sauna did work. "
"Amazing location if you are skiing at Crystal Mountain. You get a nice parking spot as a hotel guest and you can just walk to the ski lifts from there. The room is simple but cozy with retro vibes and the staff are friendly. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant at Alpine Inn. The hotel has three separate buildings. Regardless of which building your room is located, you can walk to the resort. We will stay there again when we go to Crystal Mountain for skiing. "
