"The staff is very kind and personable. The atmosphere is super chill. We really enjoyed the natural feel of the resort. It was a great location to transportation and places to eat. We will be back."
"The property is beautiful and well maintained. The room was perfect and the air conditioner worked great!! The location of the property is convenient to town and the airport. The food was absolutely amazing!! We ate the continental breakfast daily, which was really good, but we also had several dinners there and everything that we had was exceptional. All of the staff were also super kind and helpful. We will definitely stay at the Victoria House again."
"Our honeymoon was amazing and so was this resort from the staff to our suite. The staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful. I will definitely be back."
"Loved the property. Location is a bit far from DT but wasn’t the worst. Loved most of the staff with the exception of management. The staff makes you feel at home while the manager behaves like a prison warden. I had early checkout and no staff were available. Management told security to not let us leave and held us there jeopardizing our flight home. Security was great and only following orders. I would suggest to those who own this establishment to make sure the manager has a lighter tone and be a bit more kind to paying customers. Were there spending a lot of money vacationing away from the drama. We don’t need him ruining our vacation with his prison guard like behavior. I usually stay at Alaia but I thought I’d give these guys a try. I will not be returning or recommending this hotel until they are under new management."
"This resort was a dream come true and would have been a perfect 10/10 if not for one issue at checkout.
The location is a true tropical paradise. The remote setting makes it feel like you have the island to yourself, and even the 30-minute boat ride across the Caribbean adds to the sense of escape. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our stay.
The food was outstanding. This is not a buffet-style resort, but there were plenty of menu options, everything was made fresh, and the dishes highlighted local and seasonal ingredients. The property is spacious, so the pool, bar, and relaxation areas never felt crowded. We also enjoyed the variety of activities, including ceviche-making and mixology classes. Despite the remote location, we felt safe exploring nearby beaches and trails.
There was some seaweed, but that’s simply part of visiting this region at certain times of year, and the resort did its best to manage it.
Our only disappointment involved an excursion booked through the resort. We repeatedly confirmed that the quoted price included all taxes and marine park fees, but at checkout we were told those charges were extra, increasing the cost by about 25%. The issue wasn’t the additional expense—it was the lack of transparency.
Overall, the resort is beautiful, the staff are wonderful, and the experience is unforgettable. We would gladly return and still recommend it to others."
"Black Rock Lodge was absolutely amazing in so many ways: atmosphere in the rain forest, friendliest and most helpful and accommodating staff, the best included activities like hiking trails, views, tubing rapids, waterfalls, tree swings, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, the 4 course meals made from garden produce, bird watching- even at meals - staff was very knowledgable and helped point out variety of wildlife, and so many other tours the staff helps you plan and accommodate your needs. Our 18 and 20 year old said it was by far their favorite place we ever stayed at and my husband and I agree. Well done Black Rock Lodge!!?"
Mahogany Bay Resort & Beach Club, Curio Collection by Hilton
8/10 Good
"The rooms are very nice but when the wind blows the trees hit the side walls of the building and makes it very difficult to sleep. Needs some maintenance on the trees"
