Had to stay here the other night. Was very worried due to extreme price difference. Expected something akin to the awful airbnb’s that made me run from that service like the plague that it is, both on hospitality industry and housing in bay area. Not your average landing oasis this DCCrashpad. This place blew me away with the kindness. All the managment and owners are so kind and thoughtful and they really care how your stay is. The room was comfy and lit nocely, and you get to share stories with other travellers there. I have stayed in hostiles, this is better. My poorly planned day and need of spot to stay has made me a long time loyal customer. It is the people that made it great. If you go enjoy but please don’t be like the one guest that left messes. Dishes and towels and garbage. Its amazing how we laughed about the pigpen, but despite that it was still great. Love the high end range and big bbq so I can prepare my own meals when traveling to save. Hope they get to open these all over the world. I’ll say I was a customer before they got big, like my folks used to say about Dee’s hamburger stand. Now a family restaurant for 99 years. The breakfast is only Ok, but there are many convenient eateries around DCCrashpad so it’s not a deal-breaker at all.
Door was unmarked, it appeared to be an apartment complex. A guest answered the door and said he was going to get the manager. Meanwhile a fight broke out and this young man tried to distract me, but it was hard to miss.
I left without getting checked in, I felt unsafe. Do not book this place.
Overly aggressive and rude staff. The home was filthy and rodents reign supreme. Guests stay up all night drinking and doing drugs so good luck getting a good night’s sleep. Women are not safe here.
Oh my god, I don't know how people can make it here, really bad place to stay at all, I cam really late night when I get into the room it was dark and I thought to be nice and do not make any load cuz I don't want to disturbs other, slowly I waked to my bad to sleep suddenly i noticed someone was sleeping in my bad and the other person from another side wake up and asked this is your bad? I said yes, then she try's to wake up the guy and he wouldn't wake then they called the manger and both of them try's almost for 30 min to wake up the guy then the manger was saying I will talk to you tomorrow! honestly I didn't like this place.
this hostel has improved 100% since i have been staying here the last 7 months. The trouble makers all have left, the place has been kept clean the past 3 mnths, management has not been arguing with resident lately, supplies have been mostly kept in stock.only negative is cost of rent has gone up, hence they shuld start the breakfast items offered again
Aggressive and rude staff. Plenty of verbal and physical altercations, which go on unabated since the staff is the primary aggressor. This is neither a calm nor safe place.
Extremely rude staff. There was no breakfast and the kitchen was in a permanent state of disarray. Bring your own cleaning supplies and toilet paper should you make the horrible decision to stay. Women are not safe here, the staff loves to harass women.
Extremely filthy residence. There are bed bugs and the staff refuses to properly clean and maintain the property. The carpets are filthy and reek of urine and feces. The never change nor wash the linens. There is no free breakfast and rodents roam the property freely. The pictures are deceptive.
Centralized location easy access to freeway to anywhere in the peninsula.Clean place.guests were friendly management was helpfull.Excellent vslue for the price
Extremely cramped and dirty living quarters. The rooms reeked of urine. There was no toilet paper in any of the bathrooms. The managers regularly fought with each other and had to be pulled apart by guests. Not a pleasant or peaceful stay.
Place is pretty great but it's not for everybody. If you're a single or it's you and a friend and you're both pretty social then this might work out. Everyone is pretty friendly for the most part but do keep in mind it's ~8 people in a single bedroom. Everyone's got different body clocks and alarms they have to wake up to so people do get up in the night/early hours and turn on the lights to go to the bathroom, get up early for work, etc etc.
Not a place for: light sleepers, people who physically don't fit in twin sized bunk beds/hate bunk beds, clean freaks, and people who haven't experienced what a dorm is like before.
It's great for $30/night though. You're 10 minutes away from SF and in a safe neighborhood. It's somewhat better than a more expensive motel, if you can stand other people and give up a bit of privacy.
Not a pleasant stay. The restrooms were unclean. Only one small refrigerator that hadn’t been cleaned in ages. It was filled with spoiled food and mold. The facilities were not properly maintained.
Very chaotic and mismanaged property. The staff harasses and degrades female guests without penalty. It is a very toxic atmosphere. Insects and raccoon freely roam the property. Good luck showering, as the shower head was removed by management . There are a grand total of three toilets for 27 people. This house is way over capacity. The kitchen is disgusting and not properly maintained by the staff.
Unclean facilities and unwashed linens. Some of my possessions went missing and the staff merely shrugged. There was a lot of fighting and I did not feel safe there. The staff regularly cursed out guests.

Great, attentive, host with a California feeling home, which is shared clearly and openly, and are exceptionally flexible within reasonable parameters.
