We had a great stay! The room had a charming Parisian feel—compact and studio-style, but completely modern and spotlessly clean.

Booked a one-night stay. Perfect location. Walking distance to local eateries and bars. Easy access to the freeway. Prepaid for self-parking; beware of the small parking spots. The hotel itself can use some general remodeling, especially their hallways. They’re rooms are definitely smaller than your standard hotel room anywhere else.

It’s not clear where to pull over if arriving by car and right in front of hotel is a no stopping zone. You need to pull into unmarked driveway just before hotel with a no unauthorized vehicle sign and then park temporarily while checking in

The Uptown Inn by Vantaggio is a clean, attractive very pleasant hotel that offers very clean, comfortable, attractive rooms at fair, moderate prices. I've stayed there twice. Each time was a great experience! It is in the middle of and walking distance to restaurants, cafes, and galleries in San Diego's Hillcrest area and very easy bus connections to Balboa Park and Little Italy. I'd stay at the Uptown Inn again!

this hotel took some getting used to. the bottom half of the hotel is full time renters, the top half is hotel guests. the rooms are very small, and the hallways could use an update and air conditioning. the water pressure in my room was very low. the bed was really comfortable. the under hotel parking is overpriced per day. the area the hotel is located is a cool part of san diego with lots of bars, restaurants, and grocery stores within walking distance. overall an ok place to stay.
