We really enjoyed our stay. Frank, the man at the front desk that checked us in was very friendly and gave us an upgrade. They were renovating the hotel and our room was nicely updated. Great location to downtown St Joe. Love that it is dog friendly so our girl could explore with us!

Positives: - close to Silver Beach, easily within walking distance as well as the other shops and restaurants in the area. - we were able to check into our room earlier than 3 pm. - ice machine always had a surplus of ice, and thankful one (of the two in the hotel) was on our floor. Negatives: - pool was out of service and most definitely not going to be up and running anytime in the near future. - limited breakfast items, breakfast not as advertised - no waffles or waffle maker; when items ran out, had to get assistance to get refilled - no coffee on our third morning of stay - lobby bathrooms were disgusting; one toilet in the women's was out of order all 3 days of our stay; 'water' was on the floor in the men's - parking was overcrowded in hotel parking lot Overall, we had a great time in St. Joseph but will definitely not stay at Silver Beach Hotel again, nor would recommend.

We liked that it was close to the Beach. Over all the rooms were clean. The property was a bit run down and could use some updating. There was not enough parking, and you had to be sure to get there early to get a parking space. The breakfast was disappointing. The creamer for the coffee was out dated and bad. And on our floor it smelled like an Indian restaurant.

Wish the room included and microwave and that the television was more modernized (very fuzzy analog cable TV with no streaming options), otherwise everything else was up to expectations! Room was clean, accessability to food, stores, and the beach was impeccable. Breakfast was lackluster on options compared to expectations.

Rooms were in ok shape but the common areas, hallways etc were in bad condition. No pool or bar. Pool room looks like a junkyard. Bad breakfast quality is offered in the morning. Better off getting food elsewhere.

We picked the Silver Beach because it was reasonably priced and within walking distance of the train station. The staff was friendly but the facility itself was spartan and had an overall feeling of needing work. The clock radio wasn't plugged in and I couldn't get the numbers to display, yet the alarm for some reason went off at 3:00 am. The breakfast was minimalist at best.

Property is very close to downtown shopping and beach. Beds are comfy. No pool or restaurant. Needs updating with fresh coat of paint and carpets. Room was average clean. Third floor smelled like someone was cooking everyday with curry or frying something .

The hotel was very affordable and provided a convenient place to stay. We appreciated the flexibility of offering a two-day stay during summer months! Nothing fancy but we weren’t looking for that. It provided what we needed! The staff was wonderful!

The area is amazing but the hotel other then location is A$$! The elevator broke down with us in it. The continental breakfast is a lie. The rooms for $500 for two days other then location is a waste of money!!!!! Find a better place, a little further away and you will be grateful for it. I will say being within walking distance was amazing but not worth the money spent for the rooms!!!!!@

I stayed on the 6th floor which is one of the newly renovated floors and had no issues. The room was clean, everything worked properly, nice little balcony. The free breakfast was a little lacking but there's a coffee shop directly across the street. Very walkable location to get around town or to the beach

Silver Beach hotel is a beyond-convenient place to stay when visiting St. Joseph. It is centrally located with pretty much everything one needs for a weekend stay within walking distance. The property itself is a bit of an odd-ball with some deferred maintenance and more DIY-leaning renovations, but it was comfortable enough and really is the perfect location.

Enjoyed our stay here. The only negative issue occurred when we entered the rear door from the parking lot at about 9:30 at night to find the door open and no one at the front desk watching for hotel residents only entering. Anyone could have entered the hotel and gone straight to the elevators as we did. Very poor security.

We got there and the guy behind the counter didn’t acknowledge us for a bit too long. Eventually got to our room and everything was damp (towels, sheets, etc.). There was long brown hair in multiple places (shower, floor, bed)… disgusting. The elevators were broken so we had to walk up the stairs. The stairs are accessible from the outside only and requires zero security - very unsafe. WiFi barely worked. Would not recommend.

We chose this property because it looks very nice in the pictures and close to everything. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which the carpet was very old and dirty, the bathroom door that was a bar door style would get stuck and noway to open it once inside and door was shut. The other bathroom had stopped flushing as we were getting ready to leave. I looked inside the back of the toilet it was nasty and old and the chain had rusted off the flapper. One elevator was under repair very inconvenient so it was a wait to get out of the building. The breakfast was nothing to speak off at all for the $560 we spent for 2 nights. The employees were very nice but the building over all needs a lot of repairs. I go to St. Joesph at least 2 times a year and this was my first and probably last time staying here until I hear or see of room upgrades/remodeling done. I would give it maybe 2.5 stars.
