city wortha visit and hotel worth a stay.

there is a 15 euro city charge on top of the bill that we were not aware of. the view from the terrace is amazing and the area is worth a visit.

Great place to stay

Our stay was great. Staff were very helpful and friendly. View of Lago Albano from our room was stunning. We’d stay there again, but would upgrade to a superior room rather than standard. Castel Gandolfo itself was the most idyllic place to visit

Hotel Castel Gandalfo has a beautiful view out over the lake. Daniel and the rest of the staff were very helpful in advance and upon arrival. Just a few minutes walk to the Castel Gandalfo train station and a 30 minute ride into the Rome Termini station where you can take a subway to all landmarks. The hotel provides a delicious breakfast too.

Quaint, charming accommodations

We stayed in a separate apartment on the other ebd of the block from the lobby. It was nuce with a great balcony overlooking Lake Albano. My only complaint was that they could only give us 1 set of keys for 2 people

Hotel penthouse apartment was a amazing with spectacular views. Streets around hotel are narrow and there is no hotel parking only a small drop off area. Free parking is available approx 500 meters away at Parcheggio carpark, which can be difficult to find a space. Well worth the parking hassle to stay in this lovely hillside town.

Staff were the best anywhere. They were very helpful with information and anything needed. The hotel is not new or fancy but the authenticity and experience was beyond compare. There was a lot to see and do even for off season. Just a short train ride to Rome and then connections to Pisa, Naples, or other destinations. My husband and I have no complaints.

Overall it was good, breakfast was delicious. The only thing that I was not really happy with was the elevator only works to 1st floor and from there I had to carry my luggage down to the lobby.

It was wonderful to rent the spacious penthouse apartment with the glorious rooftop patio with view of the lake. It should be noted this apartment has several levels and lots of stairs. The staff at the hotel was a five star experience from the gals at the desk to Filippo who went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Breakfast every morning was lovely. Can’t wait to return to this heaven on earth.

The facility doesn't worth four stars at all but absolutely less than that. It was an apartment (civic number 5) far from the main hotel with no possibilty of parking your car. Basically there is no car park within the hotel and you have to park on the road around the area. In the apartment you easily find this: poor cleaness, no drinks in the fridge (only a bottle of water was available in there), no tv, no fan and no window in the bathroom... just for starting. And the price for two nights is too high for those (low) standard levels. In one word: disappointed! Very very disappointed. Sorry to say but never never back to Castel Gandolfo Hotel.
