Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. 「We stayed in Haven Hall and had such a great experience there! The owner David came to greet us and showed us around his property which they renovated for 4 years prior to opening as a boutique hotel. The hotel has beautiful decor inside and a spectacular waterfront. We were asked in the evening what we wish for a breakfast on the next day and they made it exactly the way we requested. We wish we spend more days on the island and definitely would recommend this hotel for everyone who is visiting...

「From arrival to departure Jonathan, Melissa and Magnus (The Dog) were the most wonderful hosts. We stayed in the Fat Badger Hut which was absolutely stunning, the bed was the cosiest thing ever and the room was well decorated. Breakfast was delicious and filling. The little things including the beautifully lit garden with fairy lights and water features plus our hosts hospitality was unquestionably outstanding. This was a truly perfect staycation. 「If you use a wheelchair make sure you state this when booking. Accessible suites are only available on the 2nd floor and the lift does not go to the third floor. We were on the third so we had some steps to use and drag the chair up. An access ramp is at the side of the building but, if you cannot do stairs, you have to wheel through the outside bar patio in the front, into the back of the bar, through the restaurant and out into the lobby. I did not personally love the layout of the rooms especially in terms of plugs, as these could be difficult to find (even behind someone's head on the bed headboard), however this is a very tiny thing and generally speaking everything went well and was easy.
