The royal esplanade is always so homely every time I am there and all that is required is within distance, buses ,shops ,eating out ,Harry's bar at the side of the hotel too. Always feel at home here and the staff always make me feel at home and welcome 🤗

Old property that needs some modernising. Windows do not keep out much noise, so woken by hovercraft noise, trains etc from across road, also paper thin walls that mean you hear everyone in other rooms and voices walking past.

It was very hot and they forgot to put a fan in my room but when ask one was supplied, the doors on the outside keep banging when other guests coming or going and the noise from some bikes rasing on the street below my window kept me up a long time during the night but the staff in the restaurant and hotel are great.

We paid for a premium room which was room 34 with a view, it was the size of a cupboard the curtains did not fit you could not close them. I could not fit into the shower and there was no bath the toilet was separate next to the bed and behind a sliding door that didn’t close. The list could go on and on. We were staying for 3 days but had no help from the reception staff or management we would not return to this hotel Give it a Miss.

Had a good time. Breakfast was included, wasn't the best breakfast but can't complain. Staff was helpful and really nice. Room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable, could have slept there all day!!

I particularly liked the location of the hotel which is near the pierhead the trains and the bus terminus There is a good restaurant and bar The armchairs in the lounge could go with replacing but if you like Victorian hotels you will like this
