"Our 10-day stay at Barceló Maya Palace was absolutely flawless. The property is spectacular, immaculate, and features incredible pools and a beautiful beach. We were thoroughly impressed by the excellent food quality and the outstanding, friendly service from the entire staff. It is a true luxury experience from start to finish. We highly recommend this resort and will definitely be back!"

"Everything clean, but age of property is showing through failure to invest in real updates instead of frequent cheap and obvious patch repairs, and fewer staff to save money. Regardless, of that, and the continued removal and shrinking of activities and many special personal touches that used to make this a genuine luxury property, we will return because of the unparalleled natural beauty and commitment of most of staff, many of whom call us by name on arrival, despite meeting thousands of people each year. Especially Moses on the shuttle, Roman in lunch buffet above swim up bar, and former 12 year unparalleled masseuse David Gutierrez Romero, whom we now travel to his home and pay for massages, several times every week we visit. He is now with IBerostar and just won a deserved award for spa sales and massage. Another mistake by Occidental as a corporation- by letting great, loyal, employees take their talents to other resorts."
Barceló Maya Caribe - All Inclusive

"We had a really nice stay at Barceló Maya Caribe overall. The resort was very clean, the food was great, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The facilities were also very good and well maintained. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the noise situation around the pools and hallways. Some guests, especially weekend groups, were bringing large portable speakers and playing loud music everywhere, even though the resort already provides music in the designated pool areas. At times there were multiple speakers competing with each other around the same pool, which really took away from the relaxing atmosphere. One night there were even people shouting and playing loud music in the hallway around 4 AM. I understand this is mostly caused by certain guests, but I think the resort should enforce stricter rules about personal speakers and quiet hours, because otherwise the experience becomes much less enjoyable for everyone else. That said, this is still a very good resort and we genuinely enjoyed our stay. One small note as well: some activities/facilities that are usually included at other resorts, like the water slides, required extra payment here."

"Property was large and spacious, lots of room to explore. We went with the rooftop suite and loved it! Room was highlight! This location is set up well for couples and has a great local vibe. Room service was a bit slow and concierge was unheard from.. Food was mediocre, par for the course.. expected. 24 hr coffee shop was nice! Common pools are warmer and not ice cold... nice!!"

"This was our first time at this result and we had an amazing time. We stayed for five days and definitely did not see everything at the property. We ate at a different restaurant every night and the food here is not what you would expect from an all-inclusive it is amazing! We are definitely coming back."
