Stayed for a few days and enjoyed the scenery lovely double room facing the water, view was stunning, an easy 10 min stroll to Rathmullan, only 2 issues/gripes was no internal access to restaurant from hotel, no great when weather isn’t the best and no bed and breakfast option so need to pay between 10-14 euro if you want breakfast. No issues with auto check in and rooms made every day and staff very friendly and helpful.

As the property’s name suggests, it is in a beautiful location right on the shores of the lough. This is not a hotel, however, and shouldn’t be advertised as such. It is a restaurant with some adjoining accommodation to the rear of it. The accommodation has a completely separate entrance and has virtually nothing to do with the restaurant. There are none of the usual facilities associated with a hotel. No reception, no lobby, no breakfast available, and no proper bar etc. In fact, even the restaurant was closed most of the time we were there! It’s also a good 15 min walk to the nearby village along a narrow road with no pavement for part of the way. I know it’s February, but this was literally like staying in an abandoned building. It’s such a shame because it’s actually quite nice. The restaurant part of it is a lovely building with spectacular views over the lough. They could make so much more of it, though. The rooms were clean but a bit compact and bijou. On the upside, most of the rooms benefit from the views, too! Maybe it’s a lot better during the holiday season. 💁‍♂️

NOUVEAU STYLE D’ACCUEIL EN IRLANDE
Arrivé un dimanche soir pour un séjour de 3 nuits, nous cumulons les surprises. Un simple courriel nous indique les codes d'accès à l’hôtel et à la chambre. on apprends que le restaurant sera fermé les lundi et mardi et que l'on ne sers pas de petits déjeuner. Ce qui nous obligera chaque matin et soir à parcourir la région pour trouver de quoi se nourrir !50kms à chaque tentative au minimum, car tout est fermé ces jours là dans cette partie du Donegal.La VMC de la chambre ne fonctionne pas mais pas d"interlocuteur, à moins d'attendre le passage de la femme de ménage.Mercredi matin, douche froide:pas d'eau chaude. Et toujours personne alentour ! le restaurant n'ouvrira que le soir.. A noter que le choix de l’hôtel était lié au fait qu'il offrait un restaurant et qu'il était situé près de l'embarcadère du ferry .Qui s'avéra ne plus fonctionner dès le 1 octobre....

Thank you for your feedback Philippe. The hotel is situated in a seaside village which is seasonal. The village is extremely busy during the Spring/Summer months and less busy during Autumn/Winter. Unfortunately we have no control over the opening hours of the onsite restaurant, other restaurants in the area or the Ferry service. We were informed by another guest of the lack of hot water on the final morning of your stay. Maintenance were informed immediately and had the hot water back running in less than an hour. I understand this was an inconvenience and can only apologise for this. Although we run a self-check in service, there is an emergency contact number displayed & available 24 hrs.Again we are very sorry to hear you were faced with some surprises during your stay & we will take your feedback into consideration to make our hotel the best it can be.Thank you!

Excellent stay
Absolutely gorgeous setting, we had The Fahan Room and it was just right beside the water. The view was amazing, lovely large window to make the most of the view. Comfy bed and very clean. The bathroom was a little tired but fully functional. It was excellent value for money. Can’t wait to return.

Fantastic place to stay...very smooth self check in..only downfall is no breakfast option,close to some beautiful wee bars and a shop..right on lough Swilly...wee ate at the restaraunt..although it didnt serve alcohol but my partner was able to get their local ale as they havent got their drink licence yet. the scenery was out of this world looking right onto the lough..will definitely be staying again very soon 😀

Check in very easy, clean room, lovely location with view of the lough. We didn't try the restaurant but it looked good. The only thing missing was a couple of cups so we could make tea (a kettle and tea bags were provided but no cups).
