「Well located to shops, restaurants, bus, and walking distance to the train station, but room was pretty basic. Many eateries in the area which serve when the in house catering is closed (open 10:00-3:00). Building is old, so not surprised by some minor plumbing issues. Staff friendly and helpful.」

「Outstanding value for this hotel. Spotlessly clean, and one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. Quiet, convenient to shopping, and not far from LGW we are SO GLAD to have found this property. Meals in the hotel bar were excellent and decent portions. Unreservedly recommend.」

「We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay.」

「Lovely pub hotel, close to Gatwick airport. We had an upstairs room in the separate annex outside the main building. Very spacious room, clean bathroom, and comfy bed. Had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent (if a little pricey). Was leaving for the airport at 7:30am and breakfast started from 8, so they prepared us a very substantial packed breakfast to go. Overall excellent value for money and would certainly stay again and recommend.」
