We just returned from our second year in a row at Catalonia Riviera Maya, and overall, it was another great vacation! The resort continues to impress with its beautiful setting, multiple pools, and plenty of bars and lounging areas to relax in throughout the day.
The highlight, once again, was the service and food — the staff is consistently friendly and helpful, and the à la carte restaurants were outstanding. Special mention to the BLoved Restaurant, which was truly amazing, and The Grill, which served up some really great meals.
One downside this time was that it was almost impossible to get reservations at the à la carte restaurants, even with Privilege status. Luckily, we managed to book a couple on the first day, but after that, everything was booked up fast.
As for the room, it was okay — we probably won’t book one with a sofa bed again, as it wasn’t the most comfortable. We also had a couple of days without hot water, though the water temperature was still tolerable, so it didn’t affect us too much.
Despite a few hiccups, the hospitality, food, and overall atmosphere made for a great stay. We’d still recommend this resort, especially for the food and service — just try to book your restaurant reservations as early as possible!
