"Clean room nice staff"

"We had a three night stay as this was a good base for visiting Stratford and several National Trust houses nearby. The hotel was clean. The staff were friendly but not proactive. ie, didn't notice plates, bowls, etc. that had been finished with and could be removed when they brought other items to the table. The breakfast was good, but the hot water flasks meant the tea was tepid. We ate in the restaurant each night and enjoyed some good, wholesome food. "

"Public areas clean but our room had an awful smell of damp that was so bad it lingered till the next day on our clothes which were in a canvas bag on the floor of the room. the bathroom had black mould (the shower handset had obviously not been taken out of its holder to clean and was caked in it). the aircon in our room made us feel like we were on an airplane next to the engines at take off (the other party with us was in the room next door to ours) and their aircon didnt work at all - and an plug in radiator was supplied which took ages to heat the room) the Tv in the second room would not switch off and was on 24/7. We were going to eat at the hotel after arriving cold and tired from work but there was not a single person in there and no staff and no smell of cooking (this was at 7-8pm on a friday night so you would expect something to be going on) we tried asking the staff in the bar area next to the 'restaurant' but they were totally bemused by our asking if there were any dining staff available to order from and was the kitchen open. both nights of our stay we went out and brought hot food in to our rooms. The staircase was (chipped) painted concrete and just like a municiple car park. The breakfast we had was really good. All in all great location and price just a bit tatty and lacking in the important areas of room, comfort and restaurant."

"Parking didn't feel secure; mine was the only car there on arrival and the whole place felt like it was closed. Luckily there was a receptionist who was polite enough. Bar was closed for the duration. No TV remote in the room, but they did provide when asked. Had to borrow a (leaky) iron from front desk but no board provided"

"Excellent breakfast choice with superb quality of ingredients. All the staff were friendly, helpful and super efficient. Room extremely comfortable with plenty of storage and the views were stunning. Parking easy and spacious. Would definitely stay again. "

"Terrible service. Booked a twin room and given a double. When this was raised, we were told we'd have to make our own beds as housekeeping had gone home. No bedding provided after asking twice so ended up sleeping in a unmade bed. "

"Nice greeting. Pool was not biggest but everyone kept to a lane to avoid a collision. Bar was good and the breakfast excellent. Room was fabulous. "
