We had such a wonderful stay at Black Bear Lodge! It was the absolute perfect home base for our weekend getaway. Kim was so sweet and made the check-in process completely seamless. Having breakfast included was such a lovely bonus, too. We would love to stay here again!
Friendly staff, clean room and property. We enjoyed our stay very much and appreciated that this lodging space allowed us to bring our dog. We look forward to returning!
I always have a great time at this property, it's so scenic. Each room has a microwave and fridge which comes in handy as does the little table to sit at. The tv is a flat screen with a couple of hundred channels for night time. There's a little stream in the back if you care to sit back there. It's an older property, but you get the most bang for your buck here and of course it's very clean.
My stay at Black Bear Lodge was great. The room was comfortable and clean and contained everything I needed. The shower was great - no waiting for hot water! The location was quiet and convenient. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was perfect - coffee, tea, cereal, muffins, croissants, etc. Check in and out was simple. And the price I paid was very reasonable.
I hope to stay there again!
The surrounding trees and stream in the back make this property my choice over others every time I come here. The price is reasonable and rooms are clean and comfortable.

Not glamorous but very nice!
Black Bear Lodge is the perfect place to lay your head at night after a long day of hiking and outdoor adventures! The host was very kind as she provided light breakfast each morning (fruit, tea, coffee, muffins, croissants, bottled water), and checked in with us to make sure our stay was going well. I would definitely stay here again when I am in the area!
As a little motel close to a festival venue, the Black Bear Lodge was just what I was looking for. I was prepared for it to be small and basic and for the decor to be somewhat dated. What I found was a motel that was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The innkeeper was delightful. I would stay there again.
Most of the hotels and inns around there require 2-nights stay, but not this property. Not over the top, just clean, comfortable, and cheap. 12min sway from the ski resort and restaurants.
The motel is very cute & had a mini kitchen. River running through the back yard. Easy to find. Free breakfast. We had a great stay & will definitely visit again!
This is a classic, retro roadside hotel high in the Catskill Mountains. Rustic and very simple but clean and cozy. Kim the hostess is charming. Beautiful surroundings. Convenient to skiing, hiking, fishing.
This is in a wonderful area of the Catskills with a creek streaming in the back if you wish to visit it. I've stayed a few times and I've seen many people take their dogs to Black Bear. They love the treed property for walks. It's close to farm stands or antiquing in the various towns along route 23.
