We had great meals and enjoyed the beautiful waterfront views and playground in town.

Good stay

Everything about this stay was falling apart — literally. The fire alarm was hanging off the wall, the balcony lamp was detaching from the exterior, the water never got hot, and the pressure was barely more than a trickle. I grew up in Port Jefferson and love it dearly. Beautiful town!
Great area for dining, drinks, walks scenery.
Meh. Few decent places to eat. “Downport” is better; up the hill you have gangs and crime. Many locals are aggressive and obnoxious — it’s a Long Island Point of Pride. Watch for local drivers running stop lights, including school buses.
Traffic on all of Long Island is horrific. If you like spending 3 hours in bumper to bumper traffic you will enjoy your visit. LI has done nothing in the past 30 years to help the traffic situation.
Need more variation in shops and businesses. Too many ice cream and candy shops.
