「The Royal Oak is in a stunning location and there has clearly been a lot of investment in upgrading the facilities and decor. This has resulted in very stylish, thoughtfully designed, high quality accommodation. The room & bathroom were gorgeous with good storage, a very comfortable bed and good quality fabrics, linen & towels. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. 「Nice stay in the lakes with the dog. Great staff at the hotel, good breakfast and extensive drinks selection. Room was very small and pokey but otherwise ok and fairly comfortable. We were on the top floor and there is no lift, so would not be suitable for those with restricted mobility. 」

「Ambleside Townhouse is so conveniently located to shops, restaurants, and hiking trails. The folks are accommodating and friendly; they really went the distance in making our stay comfortable and convenient. My only suggestion would be mini-split a/c units in the rooms - despite the comfortable temperatures, the humidity was uncomfortable at times. 」
