"I had great hopes for this hotel but fell short a little. The property is nice and well done but does not offer anything beyond a room and a, lets call it "sufficient" breakfast. Unless you use the spa area which looks great on the pictures, there is just nothing else. The view is great, the location is great and the hotel is in great condition. Hence the reason for the 5-star but it sure is lacking something a little more. Parking is a bit of a pain and loading/unloading should be better...

"We loved everything about our stay here. The staff and Barbara went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to ensure we were enjoying our stay. Luca, the chef came around during dinner chatting with the tables. The farm to table style of dining was unique and always delicious. We loved the mountain trails to explore the landscape and the views are spectacular. Our apartment was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed sitting outside on the upper level patio taking in the tranquility, beauty...

"Excellent service and hospitality in a wonderful old castle on top of the hill. The city square offered the best pizza-place and evening entertainment in the square with cover band playing ABBA-hits. We will definitely come back and visit again!"

"Quadruple room was too small even for 1 person. We stayed in much bigger and better hotel in nearby La Spezia for half the price. Also the description was misleading, it said 2 double beds and 2 single beds, while it actually was 1 double bed (which is for 2 people) and 1 bunk bed. Check in was cumbersome as they couldn't explain in clear English that that room can actually take 4 people, also the room reeked tobacco smoke (though they changed it after). I will not stay in this hotel again. It...
