Poor room service, cleaning staff don’t know their job, leave dirty cups in the room, never provide clean unless you keep on reminding. We were there for 2 week, same breakfast every day :( . Pool hygiene was not the best! Location wise it was good.

Clean and simple hotel. We stayed in several hotels in the area and for the price this one was quite accommodating and well located. The only cons are: you hear everything in your hallways, can’t keep the room cold with out leaving your key inserted.(it takes quite a while to cool the room down when you get back for the day) and the pool is quite gross a lot of things floating in it and the surface shows a lot of oils floating. We didn’t see it cleaned once in 10 days.

Hotel: Dara Hotel Room no: 3209 Staff: 9/10 Location: 5/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Soundproofing: 2/10 (can’t hear traffic but can hear noisy people in the hallway + karaoke until midnight every night) Blockout curtains: Yes, exceptionally dark. Comments: You cannot flush toilet paper and have to put it in a bin. Hopefully you’re travelling solo or are very comfortable with your travel partner/s, however that doesn’t negate the fact the bin has held other peoples toilet paper with urine and feces on it. There was also a massive karaoke party on the first night we arrived that could be heard clear as day in the room and did not cease until just after 11pm despite being a Tuesday night. We would not stay here again. You cannot leave the fan or aircon on whilst you are away. This makes the room smell musty, and impossible to dry clothes.

Nach den Fotos sind wir von einem schönen, gehobeneren Hotel ausgegangen. Das Zimmer war auch in Ordnung, aber das Hotel liegt an einer 6 spurigen Straße und der nächtliche Verkehrslärm war unerträglich. Frühstück war gut. Ansonsten wirkt das Hotelgelände, außer in der Empfangshalle, heruntergekommen, schmutzig und ungepflegt. Bis 15 Uhr fand noch keine Zimmerreinigung statt, die Putzwagen stehen immer auf den Fluren rum. Alles wirkt liederlich. Wir würden das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

The staff were good. However on our last night, the people who were staying next to our room were making so much noise at 2am in the morning. I even went to complain but nothing was resolved and eventually I fell asleep only because I was tired. I was also disappointed with the gym facilities and the fact that the swimming pool was not deep enough.

Near major shopping

Hotel is okay... Problem with the air conditioner was sorted very quickly and we were given an upgraded room. Showers were a bit weird with the flow and heat/cold. Catching a bus opposite central gets you to Patong Beach for 30 baht. Shopping is walking distance. All good.

NOISY: Annoying beeping doors and group tours

One complaint. This group caters to big group tours. So the hotel is overrun by this specific type of tourist. So the other guests are very loud, going in and out of each other's room, yelling across the hall. So if you wanna peaceful stay, this is not the place for you. And they need to do something about the DOORS. The doors don't close on their own - you need to yank them yourself. If the door is not fully closed, there is an annoying, incessant beeping that will go on forever until you yank the door shut. The group tours don't know this, so every day, almost all day, the "beep-beep-beep-beep" goes on and on and on, driving you crazy! Oh the wifi is terrible.
