This is an amazing ecolodge that offers the opportunity of seeing wildlife using the trail starting directly from the hotel. The food is very fresh and clearly very locally sourced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s located in a quiet area far from Arenal. Highly recommended.

This property is such a gem. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing. We could have spent more time just exploring the grounds, they have so many cool things to see! They showed us a sloth and baby that live close by the reception area. The gift shop sources locally made goods, which was a really special. The food was great and we loved our chocolate making tour!! Would absolutely return for more days to enjoy this one of a kind property!

This hotel was absolutely gorgeous, on the most amazing grounds. Nestled in the heart of the rainforest with two trails to walk through. The pool and hot tub were perfect, and open 24/7. The service was brilliant and the room was beautiful and luxurious.

The dome suite was most unusual and quirky. Large comfortable bed with integrated storage in the unique bamboo head board. Lovely and totally private outdoor space, perfect for watching the birds and immersing oneself into the sounds of nature. Very eco conscious lodge which treads lightly with regards to it's carbon foot print Great tasting, mainly vegetarian dishes with most ingredients fresh from the farm. Lots of animals and birds to see on the trails including sloth,howler monkeys and the most beautiful birds. We can only recommend it.

This was my second stay at Fina Luna. I first came in 2015 through a college trip with True Nature, this time around I took my family. We stayed in a family bungalow and had a great time. We will definitely be back.

A very peaceful getaway!

The most peaceful experience I had while in CR, it is nestled in the mountains full of flowers, and birds! The food is fresh, affordable and tasty. We went to a few restaurants in the area and they were the best option. They carry Suiz y Tico beer, highly recommend. My favorite was laying on the hammock outside my room watching the rain, lightning, and hummingbirds!

The property is beautiful and true farm to table dining but therefore a limited menu. The private cassitas are lovely and spacious with a large bathroom and private patio. However the bed creaked getting in and out and whenever you moved and the mattress was so hard I barely slept. The hot tub was too scalding hot to actually enjoy but the setup was stunning.

This grounds were gorgeous. We saw lots of birds and with patience some sloths. The food fresh and delicious. The drinks unique and my kids loved the smoothies. The pool and hottub were cold but we didnt use it much. The chocolate tour and herb workshop very educational and fun. Ale gave one of the best massages ever. Adding the red clay was heaven. The staff superb. Overall a unique experience

Beautiful property with a delicious breakfast included in the rate. We organized airport transportation with the hotel which made for smooth travel. We enjoyed walking the trails and had dinner there a few nights. It's a a 40 minute drive from La Fortuna, but Carlos from Costa Rica Rent-A-Guide picked us up at no extra costa and took us to all the major tourist destinations (Mistico Bridge, La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Volcano, etc.) Comfortable beds and perfect patio lounge furniture, complete with a hammock! I recommend and would stay again. Many thanks to the kind an accomodating staff.

Our stay at Finca Luna Nueva Lodge was simply unforgettable. The place is stunning — surrounded by lush nature, peaceful energy, and vibrant life everywhere you look. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and nourishing, and the warm hospitality made us feel truly welcomed from the very first moment. And the yoga shala is simply magic! One of the highlights of our trip was the night tour with Dani in the forest — such a fascinating and enriching experience! She guided us through the local fauna with incredible passion and deep knowledge, showing us frogs, insects, and nocturnal life in such a respectful and exciting way. She even took beautiful photos with her phone to share with all of us — such a thoughtful touch! We also highly recommend treating yourself to a massage with Alexandra — she’s incredibly skilled and intuitive. One of the best massages we’ve ever had! This place is a true gem — relaxing, inspiring, and full of heart.

Good but not great

Overall our stay at Finca Luna Nueva Lodge was good. We stayed in the Dome Suite which was great and very unique. However after reading reviews online I was expecting more from the hotel in general. The evening meal was a buffet as the restaurant does not serve the a la carte menu when there are over 25 guest dining - this was the case every evening we were there and we felt was disappointing. The breakfast buffet was very average, and if you arrived later than 7.30am there was no yogurt left (despite asking for more). The pool and jacuzzi area require a bit of an uplift too, a number of sunloungers were damaged and the jacuzzi needs a repaint. The staff were friendly and the service was again good but not great. We enjoyed our time staying at Luna Nueva but I’m not sure we’d stay again if we were to go back to La Fortuna.

Skønt øko-resort

Fremragende øko-hotel midt i junglen. Hotellet har sin egen 3 km junglesti og vi lå ved poolen og så dovendyr hænge i træerne. Aber, frøer og fugle ligeså. Poolen er dejlig varm og meget børnevenlig. Maden på hotellet stammer fra egen farm. Selv smørret er kærnet fra mælk fra farmens køer. Værelserne er rummelige og fine uden at være luksus. Vi var der i juli og vejret var dejligt med sol og varme. Og selvfølgelig lidt regn også - her midt i regnskoven. Det hører med. Kan virkelig anbefales. Ikke nødvendigt med 4x4 som nogle skriver. Men bil er et must.
