「Staff were excellent. Very helpful. Food good. However, our room, No.3, was shabby, to say the least. Definitely not value for the price. Mould in the shower. Peeling wallpaper. Toilet window unable to open. Dirty carpet. Burnt arm on heated towel rail when bent down to retrieve towel from floor. No warning notice. Double wall socket peeling from wall. Dirty TV remote held together by sellotape. Small TV with poor sound. Photos support my assertions.」

「Historic property so room is reflective of that. Clean, quiet & great location with good parking. Onsite bar & restaurant convenient with good quality meals. Breakfast was also very good with a good selection. 」

The restaurant was excellent in the evenings. The location is fantastic with wonderful views of the beautiful Peak countryside.」

「Lovely stay, a little disappointed that the breakfast was a brown bag filled with a pot of porridge, croissant and orange juice. We did find somewhere local in Castleton for breakfast. Was very clean and lovely place to stay.」

「Stayed in the 4bed family room with Mountain View. The room was excellent,clean and spacious. The shower/ensuit was clean and modern. Breakfast was included and was superb. The staff made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. Would certainly recommend and would have no hesitation staying there again. The bar was buzzing and very popular with other hikers.」

「A nice modern hotel. Clean and comfortable on a main road that will allow you to travel out to a bunch of different riding and hiking spots conveniently. Staff were friendly and as mentioned it was lovely and clean. Only recommendation would be to bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and you happen to be in a room looking out on to the road. The windows are thick but seemingly not enough to block out noise from passing vehicles. 」
