Sadly the bathroom in our room did not meet expectations, or even basic standards of hygiene. I showed photographs of the decay, and uncleaned shower head to staff. It was a shame, because we really enjoyed our time there, and importantly, we would stay there again.

Staff barely courteous. Room had no proper lighting. Just small bedside lights, a dull LED strip behind the bed and a lamp we had to crawl behind the desk to find a switch for. Fixtures were flimsy. Taken from Ashopton Viaduct on the A57 Snake Pass Road, nice views back towards Fairholmes Visitor Centre from which we set off on a circular 5.5 mile walk. This is just about halfway now and still a nice day, with views in all directions. Nice!
