"Beautiful rooms with a spectacular Japanese garden setting. Staff were excellent. "

"Good location, easy access to restaurants, shops and shrines. "

"Everything was well organised, from the location of the check in office near the train station, to the check in procedure, to the facilities at the vacation property and inside the apartment. The location of the apartment was also great, close to lots of tourist attractions, shopping and transport."

"Very nice experience. Super quiet neighborhood. "

"Charming place, but hit my head on the 175cm door entrance many times 😆"

"Matsubaya Ryokan was an amazing experience. The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful, and the premises were amazing to stay at. We stayed in the garden view room, and we were very pleased with the experience. The room was very spacious for Japan, and there was plenty of extra fun stuff to do, such as: tea making, a free sake tasting, and a private bath experience. A ton of fun, and a great find in Kyoto!"

"Great accommodation to stay at. Staff were lovely to speak with and very knowledgeable, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, it's a good location away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre and the main tourist spots. I stayed here twice over my time in Japan and I'd stay there again."

"Like the property location very well maintained , washer was a plus"

It was nice to have the communal food area to grab coffee in the morning and a light meal. Be aware that the room entrance for the room is right next to the lobby. There are stairs to climb to get up to the room. We will...
