"Booked a specific-named room for listed amenities and a mountain view but were told that that room was already occupied. Staff member claimed this is a common issue with Expedia bookings. Initially offered a different room that was not ensuite and courtyard view despite that being 2 of the amenities specifically requested. We were eventually given a very nice top floor ensuite room with a mountain view."

"Great little place for a room over a bar. The bar closes at 9 PM so you get a very quiet sleep. Very close walk from the station."

"Another excellent dog friendly stay at the Gateway. Staff were welcoming to us and our dogs (they weren't just tolerated). Our room was lovely, perfect temperature (we stayed September), decorated smartly and cleaned well with thoughtful extras like pillow chocolates. The English Lakes toiletries in the bathroom were luxurious and the bed comfortable. We didn't have breakfast this time due to plans but the evening meals were absolutely gorgeous as always. Our third visit and it won't be our last. Thanks for the service all."
