Great hotel opposite the train station and within easy walking distance to the town centre. The room had everything you needed, a comfy bed and a lovely bath to relax in. The breakfast was varied and the hot food was individually cooked for you. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Booked this last minute as a 1st stop on a trip around the lakes area, My goodness, I know they say you get what you pay for, but you don't expect to see insects crawling in your bed or on the bedside tables!!!. Asked to be moved immediately which in fairness they did move us to a room on the 1st floor which was adequate but still dirty carpet, tired looking etc Whole place needs a refurb, which I doubt Best Western will be doing anytime soon, and as such the price reflects the condition of this hotel which looked full of trades men and builders/ civil engineers working locally in the area, much nicer hotel 2 mins away

Our stay was very nice had a lovely large room but due to the age of the property and lack of double glazing the outside noise kept us awake most of the night

Its an older hotel - although updated a certain amount (Bathroom looked fairly new) - good location closed to the town centre, decent sized rooms, staff were great, and the breakfast was very good! No on-site parking, but there are several close by car parks (they've got the information at reception). Pro tip - The Sandes Avenue carpark a few mins walk away is only £1.50 for the entire day (If you buy a ticket after the charging period ends at 6pm it'll be good for the entire next day) Wifi worked, but was a bit patchy in our room - they could probably do with a few more access points. Overall we had a good stay, and I'd come back again - especially if they add some more Wifi access points so its a strong signal everywhere!

when the hotel was booked it came with secure off road parking this turned out to be a load of rubbish so didnt do the trip and will never book with you again and i advise others to do there homework before booking this hotel and any other hotels with you and do not also use the insurance its not worth it just a way of getting more money from you
