Staff was polite and some more helpful than others. Dinner and breakfast was great. But property seems a little old and condition was ok. Need to drive as the location is quite hard to access by walking. Nice view.
Staff members are polite & friendly.
Explained all the details
Would highly recommend the hotel to friends & families.
Special mention - staff member Ho Chi Kin - very professional & helpful
We had an amazing and relaxed time at this place. Service was excellent, the meals were delicious and we had an amazing server who was very attentive. Room was clean and modern looking, amenities were great. Loved the in-room bath. Will definitely go back again if we are in Beppu.
Nicely arranged rooms with great view on Beppu, private Onsen and comfortable bed. I strongly recommend booking the dinner option (Kaiseki). It’s very good quality and staff will go the extra mile to make it a lasting experience.
Everything was as advertised! Comfortable bed, and excellent restaurant. Reaching the hotel can be slightly inconvenient without relying on taxis, so if you’re coming with a suitcase I highly recommend driving or taking a taxi. Staff was helpful and accommodating.
The room showed clear signs of regular wear and tear like cup stains on the wood and light scuffs on the walls. Everything felt well maintained however, and for the price I would still give the location a 5/5
A bit out of the way, but the room is incredibly beautiful and the staff is so helpful and sweet. The views of Beppu, even from the first floor, are wonderful and the Onsen bath will be everything you hope for.
That water comes straight from the natural spring, there is no question about it. A little sulphuric and a lot of heat! Exactly like the Seven Hells that you can’t miss while you’re town.
This property was the best for our day trip to Beppu. We wanted to spend a bit more and enjoy a private hot spring to ourselves, and this was a wonderful experience. We had a huge room to ourselves, with a private bath, and half-board. The entire staff catered to our needs and we had 1 staff member assigned to us who literally took our bags up, served us our dinner meals and breakfast, and answered any questions we had during our stay. It was an amazing experience if you like that personal concierge service for not too expensive of a cost (at least for the price we got our room and half board for). It was truly an immersive and amazing experience.
About dinner part, hotel.com information is not included. When we get there it was too late to book for the dinner set for 2. We have to take taxi to the train station difficult to find a good restaurant at the last mins. We have a good room but not a good dinner on that night and spent a lot on taxi fare too
Staying at Terrace Midoubaru is absolutely blissful.
We stayed here for a milestone birthday; it was relaxing, serene, and tranquil - just what we needed.
Checking in:
We were warmly greeted by the hotel staff as we arrived, while our bags were taken to our room. While eating a tasty and refreshing peach mochi, we watched a video to explain our stay and its facilities. Once everything was settled, we picked out our yukata.
Our room:
After check-in, we headed to our room on the second floor. The view of the Beppu landscape and Beppu Bay was breathtaking! The room was so clean, so spacious, and so welcoming. We loved the in-room bathtub and the onsen water that filled it - we certainly made good use of it during our stay.
Staff:
The hotel staff were kind, patient, attentive and knowledgable. When we arrived, our (heavy!) luggage bag was taken to our room. During breakfast and dinner, the staff were so kind to ask about our itinerary and make suggestions. They also remembered what we told them from the previous day! Gestures like these may be simple to some, but it made our stay personal.
Food:
Last but not least, the food. Everything was incredible. We were served with local produce, which was always well prepared. The quality, the variety, the flavour, the presentation was just exquisite.
If we ever get the chance to come back and stay at Terrace Midoubaru, we'd do so in a heartbeat.
It is a very nice property with a nice view, but suggest that you book 1F rooms if not you will not have any view.
I booked Japanese Western Style Room with Half Open-air Bath, 1F. The onsen in the room is really nice and so enjoyable when you are back after a busy day of driving around. The location is good too, very near to Beppu city in a few minutes by car. Also suggest that you rent a car, it is much easier.
The breakfast is really good too, the pure Japanese tradition, the restaurant room has a beautiful view too with large windows. We had dinner as well, which is also very good.
I have rated cleanliness poor, because our room was not cleaned on our second day when back at around 56pm, we were told that they forgot (although only 2 rooms were occupied, it was not a busy time). For the price tag (SGD360 / night) cleaning a room is not something that can be missed. I expect the room to be cleaned. Since it was after 6pm they simply removed the trash but they did not tidy the room up, a bit disappointing. Without this issue I would give a better rating because all the other aspects are good.
Breakfast has tradition Japanese style with high quality food. Staff is very friendly and good English Room super clean and spacious room has own open bath is the highlight. We stay two nights and they will prepare totally different menu for breakfast and dinner
