Watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, play with kites in the powerful wind and relax around bonfires on this dramatic stretch of shoreline.

Ocean Shores Beach runs along the entire length of a peninsula, which stretches for about 8 miles (16 kilometers) down Washington’s coastline. The beach is often used for lively community events, while the ocean is a playground for watersports enthusiasts.

This time of year it’s beautiful. In the summer, the beach is like a giant tailgate party. The beach becomes a giant parking lot. The charm of the beach is lost from Memorial Day through September.

Take care not to get your vehicle stuck in the sand! But both days we were on the beach, there was help ready and available to pull cars from the sand.
