"My wife and I have been using rentals at Lantern Lodge, formerly Residences at Biltmore, since they opened. This was a top a notch rental property. But it's amazing how some rentals are being neglected. Every time we go back now the rental provided to us lack updates. On this particular visit there were new TVs. There was a large space after closing the door which made you feel unsafe. The easy chair and ottoman needs to be thrown out. It was so nasty, we wouldn't dare sit on them and the sofa need to be replaced or at least replace the cushions. It was very worn out also so we sprayed it with Lysol to have a place to sit. The unit needs to be painted. The tissue holder in the first bathroom and water lines are deteriorating due to moisture or lime build up. The icemaker did not work. Cleanliness of the room was good but more detail should be considered cleaning the appliances. The staff was good. I hate some rental properties are wasting away. They used to be so nice. Don't know if we'll be returning."

"This is a really nice budget-friendly option. I stayed for nearly a week while in town for work. My room was clean, staff were friendly and the breakfast was above average. However, the pillows were unusually uncomfortable: far too thin for comfort, and yet, too thick to double up. I ended up folding a towel under my pillow for more support. I still lost sleep and had neck pain for several days after my trip. Would I stay here again? Sure, but I would be sure to bring my own pillow."

"The hotel is clean, staff is kind and helpful, large rooms and good location. Unfortunately, our room was not ready on time. While the wait was less than 1 hour, we had just arrived in town after a long drive.The room and bathroom lighting is dim."

"Clean & comfy room. The hot tub is very big, we enjoyed time in it. Could’ve been a smidge hotter. The breakfast was AMAZING. The gentleman that was preparing it was very nice. Check in was super easy. "

"The Grove Park Inn used to be a five star property. It’s a 3 at best today. We went to the GPI to celebrate my son’s birthday. Just to hit the high notes, the service from the staff was terrible. They obviously have very little training in hospitality. Absolutely no enthusiasm by the person in the Cafe, the Concierge, or the wait staff. Additionally, the Edison restaurant was a big disappointment. Our waiter rushed us through our dinner, even though there were very few guests in the restaurant. We ordered drinks and my son ordered a Sour Pineapple Cherry beer. The waiter brought out a completely different beer. We tracked him down to let him know and he informed us that they did not have beer he ordered. He scooped up the beer glass and can without a word. He did not offer another alternative. Secondly, the television in the restaurant was tuned to a very divisive and controversial political channel. I was shocked. The local restaurants in my hometown know better than this. Additionally, our room was dirty. The bathroom floor was sticky and we found a dead bug, M & Ms and and old cough drop on the floor around the beds. Our hotel room was only serviced once during our four day stay. The Spa was also dirty and extremely dated. There was an old comb, the lining of a women’s swimsuit, and most disgusting, someone blew their nose in the cold plunge tub and we had to find someone to remove it. So, no cold plunge for us. The “Spa” robes were horrible. Will not return. "
