The hotel is in the rough part of Brooklyn. There are public transport links a short distance away, but it takes around 25 minutes to reach the city centre and most of the time, you will not get a seat on the subway. There are also a LOT of stairs in most of the subway stations, so be prepared!
The photos of the property were very misleading, particularly the photos of the exterior. We thought the hotel would be a lot nicer than it actually was and that the location was nicer. It is not. It is dirty and smelly.
However, the staff are really nice and quite accommodating.
On night 2 of our stay, there was an event at the hotel, so it was quite noisy and we could even hear it on the 3rd floor where we were staying.
Though this hotel is not a bad choice if you are on a budget, if you're going to New York, I would suggest you stay closer to the city centre if you can.
