Maybe because we stayed on lower floor of the tower near Bourbon St, therefore at night our room was quite noisy. The flushing plumbing is a bit loud. Other than that everything was excellent.

The hotel is a gem in the middle of the French Quarter. It has a combination of classic elegance and modern conveniences that hit you as soon as you walk in. The rooms are very modern with all types of lifting controls including motion sensors under the bed that turn on soft lights if you get up in the middle of the night. The staff was friendly and ultra professional. It was a high class vibe in walking distance to most sights.

Room was clean, but looked a bit dated (the carpet could use a refresh imo) but I think that’s the idea of this hotel, it’s historic etc. We stayed just one night due to cancelled flight and while walking around the French Quarter my 12 y/o daughter thought the hotel looked cool and suggested we stay there for the night. Only there one night, I didn’t know about or take advantage of any amenities expect the restaurant in the hotel. My daughter enjoyed her food. Front desk staff were courteous and professional.

Everything was absolutely outstanding!!! From the second you walk to the door you are greeted with a staff opening the door for you, helping you with luggage, front reception extremely nice, room well decorated and extremely clean and everyday cleaned and left extra special! We had dinner once in their amazing restaurant which was top notch and I even landed a spot at their iconic carousel bar for a very nice drink! It is located in a great area to walk anywhere or a taxi stand right outside to airport. We will be back!!! Thank you Hotel Monteleon for making our trip to New Orlleans a wonderful experience!!!

We stayed in the older tower. Our room was not nice. Carpet was bad, toilet was so noisy, and walls need paint. For the money it was definitely not worth it. The staff was great. The garage for our car was great. The pool was full of bugs. It needs some attention

The hotel is very nice and centrally located. The bar is very nice but extremely busy and we found it difficult to actually have a drink there. The good news is there are a number of good places in the area.

This is my honest review: The exterior of the hotel and lobby are original, with beautiful architecture, and the location is very central. However, the rooms and hallways were outdated and felt unclean—there was black mould in the grout on the bathroom tiles, and the carpets clearly needed a professional cleaning. I understand this may be part of the hotel’s “aesthetic,” but I don’t think there’s any excuse for the room being dirty. Much of the furniture in the room also felt like it needed updating. The carousel bar was packed every time we went, so we eventually gave up trying to get in (which was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel). It’s also very close to Bourbon St, so walking back after dark didn’t feel like the safest experience. Overall, nothing about the hotel really stood out to us—it was simply a place to sleep.

Rooms are small, no closet or place to hang clothes, but that was ok, given the age of the building that is to be expected. Valet parking staff at night was rude. The biggest issue for me however, was there was fraudulent activity from the hotel on my credit card. They charged over $3,500.00 to my credit card several times, after trying to deposit a different amount to my credit card. This caused me to spend hours of my vacation on the phone with my credit card company. This issue (which was entirely caused by the hotel) was very poorly handled by staff. I was made to feel like it was my fault, and that I was trying to keep their funds. If you go to this beautiful historic hotel, proceed with caution!

The property is old. But that’s the charm of the building. Rooms are small but very comfortable. The Staff was very nice except for one. But I got over it. A hotel should not be judged for one bad apple. I would stay at this hotel again because of the location, the charm of the building and very nice staff.

We arrived early with my son and girlfriend, their room was ready, but ours wasn’t and by the time our room was ready the hotel put us in a handicap room on the 14th floor on the older side of the hotel that was outdated! My sons room on the 5th floor was a beautiful modern room When we complained about it to the front desk, we were told that we were put in that room because we booked with a third party (Expedia) we were so offended, we had to argue with the manager, and had to stay in the outdated room with a tub with a plastic shower curtain, outdated tv for our first night, we were finally moved to the 7th floor and a modern room, but the damage was done! We will never stay in that hotel again! And will think twice about booking through Expedia if this is how we will be treated!
