We chose this hotel for its history and location. The stay was definitely a novelty and very true to its historic roots—perhaps a bit more so than we anticipated. While we understood the limitations that come with preserving a historical property, there were fewer modern updates than expected, which made the experience feel a little more dated than anticipated. That said, it’s certainly not a bad place to stay. The building’s history and its reputation for being “haunted” add a unique charm that many guests will appreciate. However, if you’re sensitive to dust or prefer a more modern feel—especially at this price point—you may want to reconsider. Overall, it’s a fun and interesting stay for those who value character and history over contemporary comforts.

Cockroaches. The location was great. The outside of the building is beautiful. We found cockroaches (multiple) walking up the walls and under our bed. The staff did their best to try to accommodate at another hotel location. Needless to say, we checked out and went somewhere else. Sad because the location was fantastic and the building itself is beautiful.

Great Location

Great Historic Hotel. Noisy with drunk guests and a few things needed better upkeep and corners needed cleaned better. Would stay here again. Great location!!!

I booked two rooms at this property. Both at a very similar price point. The one I booked for my friends was spacious, comfortable and adequate considering the affordable price point of the hotel. My room however, room 211, was NOT acceptable. I am not one to ever leave bad reviews but this room was night and day. Bed was squashed with heavy divots. A dilapidated spring mattress. Microwave and fridge were on the ground. No room to unpack. Shower head filthy with grime, light switches broken. Our friend’s rooms were spacious and comfortable. I recommend this hotel IF they don’t put you in the weird loft of room 211. Management was unwilling to solve this issue or move us to another room. Staff was lovely.

Had a LOVELY stay.

I have always wanted to stay at this very charming place! It is very central to most everything in the French Quarter. The staff is very friendly and accommodating here as well. I loved the cool story about how this hotel is haunted.

staff was helpful and prompt in handling concerns. The room was dated which was to be somewhat expected due to age of hotel, but the thermostat was falling out of the wall, actually looked like it was barely hanging in the wall. Toilet ran constantly and TV really didn't work. Of course, we were feeling good enough by the evening none of that mattered lol. I understand not messing with the integrity of the historicness of the hotel, but simple cosmetic fixes could make it a difference in the astheicness of the room.

Staff was very nice and the AC was incredibly cold which was perfect considering how hot it was outside. The only thing I didn’t love was the bathroom shower seemed kind of grody, probably due to some rusty pipes? But otherwise great stay.

Ideal location, excellent value

Fabulous location! Right in the middle of everything in the Quarter. The hotel staff was wonderful. Our room was spacious, we had good hot water, the beds were comfy and everyone was super sweet to our dogs.

Excellent hotel great location

This was a cute small hotel with personality. It has a history of being haunted and there are tours that start in the courtyard. Hotel was clean, nice size rooms. Some are indoors and others in the courtyard. Nice seating in courtyard. Excellent lication walking distance to everything. Highly recommend hotel.

Leroy, in particular, was super helpful and always went out of his way to ensure that our needs were met. Whether we needed recommendations for local restaurants or assistance with navigating the city, he was always happy to lend a hand. The housekeeper was also deserving of special mention. She took great pride in her work, making our room feel welcoming and clean on every request. Her attention to detail was impressive, and she always made sure that our room was stocked with fresh towels and amenities. Throughout our stay, we felt like we were treated like family, and the staff's dedication to providing exceptional service was evident in every interaction. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, our experience at the hotel was nothing short of wonderful.

It was okay. However, we were traveling with other friends and their rooms were very small with tiny bathrooms. The cleanliness was good but the place overall was run down. There were no amenities except for a run down courtyard. Would not stay again.
