Amazing place to stay in Nara, located right in the Park but in a quiet area. Delicious traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast, they were even able to accommodate vegetarian requests. Sleeping on the tatami was special!! Very attentive and kind staff, the only note is that they don't speak English so make sure to have your phone with you with Google translate, especially at the restaurant. The matcha tea ceremony was cute but very rushed (10 minutes in total).

It’s a small inn but the location is excellent and the staff is endlessly helpful. The public bath is nice but like the private bath in my room was a little worn out and I can definitely see someone getting a splinter if they behave like a fools. The daily breakfast was a delightful spread of classic Japanese dishes and everyday a cup of tea and a snack was waiting for me when I got back in the from heat.

A stay here offers far more than luxurious accommodations; it provides a deep connection to timeless Japanese culture. If you are looking for an authentic escape where you are treated with genuine warmth, effortless grace, and meticulous attention to detail, this ryokan is an absolute must-visit. Would return in a heartbeat.

A true and well located ryokan right next to Nara Park and 10 minutes walking from the Kintetsu train station. Wonderful experience incl the keitatsu dinner experience. Sleeping was ok as it’s more of a cushion than a mattress on the floor
