It was the cheapest place I could find in Nanaimo. It was clean and it had AC (it was quite warm). Good for a quick, overnight stay, not too long. Short walk to McDonald's for Brekkie was a plus.

The lady at the front end office was very nice and accomodating. I was traveling with my sister and my 3 year old nephew. Whe had planned to stay for a few nights. Upon arrival their boiler blew and therefore was no hot water. We were told we can stay the night for free and she gave us a full refund I didn't expact her to do that but I apprecaited it very much! Will definity stay there again when we come to vancouver island. Very clean, comfortable beds and well worth the price.

The management were wonderful … no hot water at all during my stay , boiler was broken parts at the border… microwave no working , weatherstripping at the bottom of the door half not there …. RCMP incident where three rcmp cars were banging on the door next mine ….will never stay here again … was close to the carehome where family members reside ….

Clean room, lots of wear given the age especially the bathroom but new vanity, but overall comfortable bed air conditioning and great for 2 nights. Plenty of parking. Staff were absolutely lovely!

It was fine except we had asked for floor level because we had ebikes and were seniors. Also, there was a leak around base of toilet and we let the office know.

We had reserved rooms at a lower level because we had e-bikes three months earlier and upon arrival some of our group ended up on upper level. The hot water was too hot. Water temperature would change on its own during a shower.

A group of 9 cars pulled up, I assume from the same family. Loud, rude people who didn’t care we were trying to sleep. The property itself was great, close to the ferry terminal which is what we wanted, and the lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful - gave us a warm greeting. Thank you Bluebird Hotel!

A group of us had reserved our rooms in March for our stay in Sept. we all requested rooms on the ground floor. When we arrived only 1/2 of us got ground floor rooms. In our room there was no soap bars, no shampoo or conditioner, no dish soap. We had a kitchenette room - no kettle, no wine glasses, no salt or pepper, very little pots that were dirty. The shower was an unstable temperature- hot then cold then hot again. The motel is on a very very noisy street & traffic noise was really bad! Would not recommend this place at all.
