「No one on staff spoke English. The hotel is very dated and unkempt. There were several power outages in the 16 hours we were there.」

「The area looked beautiful in photos but it really was not feeling safe. We had an overnight before cruise and mainly just stayed in the room. The beach was lovely but we didn’t feel comfortable eating anywhere near this small hotel no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up stairs to higher floors. No where close to get a coffee in the morning.」

「Playa Catalina Hotel really surprised me in the best way. It gives you that Punta Cana vibe but in a more local, peaceful area. The beach is just a 5‑minute walk, and having a pool available 24/7 was perfect. The rooms look like little villas — super cute and cozy. What made the stay unforgettable was the staff. I traveled with my elderly dad, and they treated him with so much care. They helped him with his bags, supported him on the stairs, and always checked in on us. Even the security team...

「Una de las peores experiencias que he tenido. Las instalaciones estaban extremadamente sucias y descuidadas. Las áreas comunes, habitaciones y baños no reflejaban los estándares mínimos de limpieza que uno espera al hospedarse en un hotel. Además, la falta de seguridad fue muy preocupante. En ningún momento me sentí tranquila ni protegida durante mi estadía. La vigilancia era prácticamente inexistente y el control de acceso parecía muy deficiente.
