"Pros - The building and grounds are beautiful. Staff are very friendly and service was efficient. Rooms clean, and spacious with good heating. Cons - Room in general just requires updating. Wardrobe door broken supposed to slide but you have to lift it to move it and it was heavy. A lot of the channels on the TV didn’t work either. We were supposed to get a king but got two singles pushed together which creates an awkward dip in the middle. Not enough loungers or even seats in the spa area. People were turning up with literally nowhere left to sit and we couldn’t get a lounger one of the days we were there. Steam room and sauna broken during our stay (sauna got fixed late on the second afternoon of a two night stay)."

"Room ( i was in No 2 ) was in good decorative order . However there was a Green light permanently on all night by the door that could not be covered / turned off . Additionally when the Water Tank in the bathroom decided to replenish ( quite randomly - not after use ) it sounded like a Helicopter taking off . Very loud , and not conducive to a good nights sleep . "

"The check in process was slow and almost comical! Spoke to two bar staff about checking in. We were eventually directed to reception. After waiting and ringing bell, the same barman came through to check us in! Why we had to ask and wait I still have no idea! There was a lack of information about the room, how to enter after bar closed etc Room was big and clean. Very warm to the point of boiling. Towels in bathroom were lovely. Lots of tea and coffee which was appreciated. Bed was soft but that’s ok. Shower did not work - dribble and didn’t heat up at all. So after my morning run, this was disappointing. Had to run a bath which was lovely and hot. Reported shower to receptionist. No apology at all. Free parking was a win! "
