Now that the REM is going through the Edward Montpetit’s metro station, it is very easy to go downtown or in Old Montreal. The bus that goes in front is also very convenient as it takes you to nice neighborhoods to visit. It’s a bit far from from amenities like grocery stores, pharmacy and restaurants; however, with some planning it is manageable. I have no complaints about the place itself. I would go back anytime.

I stayed in Building C1. The room was quite noisy at night due to the old ventilation system and noise from the neighboring rooms. Although a fan was provided, it was also quite loud. As a result, I found it difficult to fall asleep and get a good night's rest.

we stayed in a twin room with a trundle bed for 8 nights--the room itself was nicely furnished with a fridge, desk, sink, and closet. the bathrooms are shared by gender on each floor and have two shower stalls as well as one toilet and one sink. there is a large kitchen with multiple stoves, ovens, and microwaves on the ground floor as well as a water fountain. the elevators are sometimes slow, and 3/4 of the outlets in our room did not work, but the staff were all friendly and helpful (and bilingual). the best thing about staying at ZUM is its proximity to convenient transportation (the REM and blue line through the edouard montpetit station plus the 51 bus).

Very very basic room - bed linen supplied was dreadful, and there were areas that were not clean. The shared bathroom was awful and I could not use it to bath. Trying to get to building was difficult with suitcases, and the building itself smelt and was very dated,and the lifts didn’t work properly The staff were as helpful as they could be.

The room was clean, it was pretty warm in the room though. You would need a couple of electric fans to be able to sleep. The bathroom was pretty decent. I found that there were some flies/bugs buzzing around. The staff was pretty helpful. You will need to ask all the questions before 9 pm since they are not there 24/7. The location is pretty close to the metro if you don't mind taking the train.

Had no issues during my stay, same thing as living in student dorms, check in was very fast and having access to all buildings meant we could use elevators to get around, no need to go up the big stairs haha. The sink is a great touch, and meant we didnt have to go to the shared washrooms as much, was very cheap and the state of the rooms reflected that but 100x better than a hostel! Of course its not a hotel, but will plan to stay here again next time im in Montreal

It’s extremely difficult to reach. There are three buildings. One you’re going to actually stay in, one where the lobby is and one where you get the keys from and the instructions and addresses listed don’t make it easy to navigate. The room has no AC, we had a fun that didn’t work. And the room barely has light in it. It was a good location

It wasn’t the best place for me because of the steep climb to get to the property. I also thought there was AC but evidently only a few rooms had AC. It was in the mid 80s with about 80% humidity. The bathroom was pretty dingy. I wouldn’t recommend.

The second elevator on the right on Building B definitely needs to be fixed as it can take a while for the door to close while you press any button. I do not recommend.
